Problem: An ageing dockside crane required a full structural inspection without taking the berth out of service for scaffold erection.
Method: A two-person IRATA-trained team accessed the crane jib, A-frame and counterweight by rope over two consecutive night shifts, capturing 600+ geo-tagged photographs and ultrasonic thickness readings.
Outcome: Detailed defect report delivered within 4 working days. Two priority repairs identified before they became critical — saving an estimated £180k in unplanned downtime.

Problem: A new build-to-rent tower needed quarterly façade cleaning. Cradle access was unreliable and disrupted residents.
Method: Two pairs of rope technicians worked a planned drop sequence over 5 days, using pure-water systems for glazing and biocide for stained cladding panels.
Outcome: Zero resident complaints. Programme now runs on a rolling 90-day cycle with a fixed-price contract.

Problem: 300m of valley gutter on a logistics shed had blocked, causing internal water ingress over a packing line.
Method: Rope access teams worked from existing roof anchors with vacuum gutter cleaning equipment, also installing temporary mansafe lines for future inspections.
Outcome: Gutters cleared in two shifts with zero operational disruption. Annual maintenance contract now in place.

Problem: 120 eyebolts across a 14-storey HQ were due for annual pull-test certification under BS 7883.
Method: A 3-person team completed pull-testing, defect tagging and certification in a single mobilisation, replacing 4 failed anchors on the same visit.
Outcome: Full BS 7883 certification issued the following morning. Client now uses Maillon for all working-at-height anchor compliance across their UK estate.

Problem: A national infrastructure client needed corrosion control across a span of exposed structural steelwork without erecting scaffolding.
Method: Rope access teams blasted to SA 2.5, applied a three-coat protective system, and worked overnight shifts to avoid operational disruption.
Outcome: Project completed two weeks ahead of programme with full ICATS-standard documentation.
